BC Submits Proposal for GT Global School Campus

Batiste Consulting, LLC (BC) has submitted a proposal for a Gifted and Talented campus in the Houston area. The new school will be called GT Global and will focus on STEAM career fields beginning in grades 1 to 12. The school’s vision is to stems from a desire to address growing domestic and international threats while introducing a rigorous academic curriculum.

GT Global will operate on using a four-day week model with Fridays being used by students to work on interest-driven projects in addition to catching up on work assigned by highly qualified teachers during the week. Fridays will also include heavy involvement with STEAM business partnerships with major corporations in the Houston area. Students will be able to make real world connections to learning on a weekly basis.

In addition to core academic classes such as English, Math, Social Studies and the sciences, the school will also have a heavy early grades college and career focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), coding, cybersecurity, robotics, writing, and more. BC is actively seeking area institutions and companies to partner with the project.

To gain admission, students who show academic and creative will undergo an interview separate from their parents to determine level of potential commitment to programmatic goals. Admissions decisions will be made by an independent community panel based on rigorous standards. With each student admitted, BC believes it is investing in and will have the onus of developing future innovative, creative leaders.

Chief Content Strategist (CCS), Dr. Seth Batiste of BC, submitted a GT school proposal to a non-profit in 2023 that was selected as a finalist. The new proposal seeks private funds to sustain the school within the first 10 years. Public funding could potentially come from the United States Department of Defense. Initial funding will be used to begin the process of planning, hiring, and building a stand-alone campus in the Spring-Woodlands area.

“I hope to begin spreading the word in the community to increase awareness of an innovative school that trains young people in areas where we know career gaps exists. Students will get a chance to learn everything that is learned in a typical classroom setting; however, each day will be filled with passion and purpose. We envision this to be a premiere school with prestigious alumni and positive front-page articles written about in in the New York Times.” Dr. Batiste shares.

Dr. Batiste has work and consulting experience in compliance and accreditation. He holds a Bachelor’s in Creative Writing and Spanish, a Master’s in Second Language Education (SLE), and a doctorate in Business Management.
